Corey is also a Licensed Structural Engineer, and is certified by the Structural Engineering Certification Board. In addition to this, Corey obtained his Professional Engineers’ License in May of 2003. After graduating from Mississippi State University in 1997, he began working as an engineering intern for the Mississippi Department of Transportation in Carthage, MS. When working there, Corey was involved in the supervision of construction and the compliance of specifications for roads, bridges, and highways. He also gained a great deal of experience when rotating throughout many different departments such as the Contract Administration, the Roadway Design, the Traffic Engineering, the Right of Way, and the Materials departments. In 1999, after working as an intern for two years, Corey began working for MMC Materials, Inc. as a Regional QA Director. This position required Corey to design concrete mixes, to prepare submittals for the Jackson area, to perform Jackson Area Environment Compliance Reports and Testing, and to conduct quarterly “Lunch and Learns” for contractors and engineers. In 2007 Corey took over his father’s company, Ewing & Ray, with his brother, Kip serving as the President of Engineering.

Since 2004, when Corey started working for Ewing and Ray, he has helped to review over 900 buildings with foundation and/or drainage problems, and has managed over 400 projects. As the President of Engineering, Corey analyzes commercial and residential foundation failures and gives repair methods using supplemental footings, deep foundation systems, or drainage systems. In addition to this, Corey has also done quite a bit of work with laying new foundations for commercial projects. Not only is Corey a Licensed Structural and Professional Engineer, he is a member of the Mississippi Concrete Industry Association, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a serving board member for the American Subcontractor Association, and a member of the Structural Engineering Certification Board. Corey also assisted in teaching the MSU Civil Engineering Construction Materials Class. Corey is confident that his educational background, and his years of experience will allow him to assist you with any foundation, drainage, and/or structural problems you may be experiencing.
